YOGA & YOGATHERAPIE

The word „Yoga“ can be translated as „unity“ – which describes the ultimate goal of the teachings. The aspirant is supposed to reach moksha – unity with god.
For this purpose, many different yoga paths evolved around India in the last millennials.

While the other yoga paths are of equal importance for the individual, Hatha Yoga is the most popular in western civilization.

Hatha Yoga differentiates the body in seven koshas (layers of being), each consisting of the seven chakras (energy centres / qualities). A problem in this fragile system is thought to cause each and every imbalance of body and mind.

In Yoga Therapy this understanding is used, to regain balance by strengthening the weakened chakras in the specific kosha by using asanas (positions), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.

Whereas many western doctors still don’t believe in the effects on health, scientific researches about yoga show more and more the complex potential in treating various diseases of body and mind – even some previous thought to be incurable.
